The Fujairah is one of the seven Emirates of the United Arab Emirates federation, in the eastern most region of the Arabic peninsula. It covers a little territory which opens on the Oman gulf on the eastern piemont of the Oman mountains.
The actual aridity has began near 2500 BC and was interrupted by several humid intervals, the last one occured near 675 BC. Of this period remain a lot of archaeological records witnessing an occupation of the territory by populations of the ÇIron AgeÈ (1350 - 300 BC).

Located on a context where the archaeology is a new discipline and almost unexplored, the aim of this project is to estabish an archaeological map of the Fujairah and also to create a local institution able to manage and exploit his national heritage.
Financed by the Swiss-Liechtenstein Foundation for archaeological research abroad (SFLA), this program occurs in the context of an archaeological cooperation between Switzerland and Fujairah Emirate.

Beginning in 1987, this program, through annual stay of several month, itemize the whole archaeological sites, discovering megalithic graves, dwelling houses, fortified houses, race cultivations, copper quarrying workshops, petroglyphs.
Pierre Corboud, Anne-Catherine Castella and Grégoire de Ceuninck, members of the group of research, are actually working on the final report of this project.
